Night Out for Safety & Liberation 2022--We Keep Us Safe!

San Francisco Interrupting Racial Profiling, SF Black Wallstreet, and Californians for Safety and Justice are proud to be organizing our city’s participation in the annual national event, Night Out for Safety & Liberation (NOSL), the night when people across the country come together to reimagine what #SafetyIs: dignity, opportunity and freedom for our communities.

We are excited to celebrate #NOSL22 in person again with speakers, food, and performers. Join with us as we come together to talk about what safety looks like when we are all safe. (Current COVID protocols will be in place.)

(This is a dog-free event.)

Submit Public Comments to Close County Jail 4 at 850 Bryant by November 1st!

From the No New SF Jail Coalition :

“Sheriff Paul Miyamoto has now publicly refused to commit that his office will move every single person out of County Jail (CJ) 4 at 850 Bryant by November 1st. This is morally reprehensible and violates the May 12 ordinance to shut down CJ4.

On Tuesday, July 21st at 12pm, the “Safety & Justice Challenge” subcommittee of the Sentencing Commission is having a public meeting, where jail closure will be discussed; public comment should be the first item right at noon. We need to put public pressure on the Sheriff-- and the City-- to make good on following the bare minimum of the letter of the law: County Jail 4 must close by November 1. No exceptions.

Instructions for calling in and sample talking points here.
